Bawaajigan (Dream)

This painting of a fancy shawl dancer holding a baby seal was inspired by a dream I had in August of 2020 where I was trying to rescue a baby seal from fishing line in the Pacific Ocean in my soaking wet regalia. I was able to free it and felt a wave of relief after waking up from such a heavy vision. I am unable to confirm what the message meant but in many Indigenous cultures, dreams are a look into the future or hidden messages can be present.
